Before you jump into 2023, first review and acknowledge your wins, and your many accomplishments and write them down. Savor them and congratulate yourself on a job well done! You deserve it!
The beginning of a new year feels like a fresh start. It’s a time when people are making New Year’s Resolutions, setting goals and intentions for the New Year. There’s excitement and hopeful expectations in the air.
Then, reality sets in, people get back into their busy lives and while most don’t want to give up, they do anyway. Their New Years motivation has faded and the inspiration hasn’t been ignited yet.
Does any of that resonate with you? Have your set goals and then wonder where they went. Well, I totally get it. I was a master of goal setting. I even taught and led workshops on goal setting. But after decades of goal setting delusion, I have discovered another way, a more fun way.
Allow Yourself to Dream
Allow me to introduce another approach or perspective. First, I want you to focus on you and you alone and ask yourself these two questions. “What do I really want?” “What would I really love?” Let yourself dream again. Remember dreaming when you were a child? Daydreaming? You were really good at it. Give yourself permission to dream and think about what you desire!
What makes your heart sing?
What makes you smile and laugh?
What do you want to have more of?
What kind of lifestyle do you want to live?
Where would you love to live?
Who would you like to spend more time with?
Where would you like to travel to?
How do you want to make an impact in the world?
DO NOT LIMIT YOURSELF! YOU CAN CREATE ANYTHING!
Doesn’t it feel good to dream and think about what you want to create? Now I would love for you to complete this exercise from my book, Allow Life to Happen and receive everything you desire! I call it a ‘forward leap’ because you are going to use your imagination to create the most beautiful life ever, three years from now.
Read the next paragraph, set your timer for 5 minutes and then close your eyes and imagine the best day ever.
It is three years from now. You have created the most amazing, exciting, successful life filled with joy and love. Feel the appreciation and gratitude in every cell in your body. You are waking up to a glorious new day. Begin to experience it as soon as you wake up. Feel the shift. Is there sunshine streaming in through the window? What does your room look like? Are you at home or on vacation? If you are on vacation, where are you? What country are you in? What do you see, hear, feel, and smell? Is someone bringing you breakfast in bed? What delicious food are you eating? Now you are getting ready for the day. What do you get to do? Are you bringing your gifts and talents to the world? Or are you on vacation and traveling? Who are you with? Are you connecting to others? Are you with family or friends or meeting someone new? What new experiences and adventures will you have today? How are you feeling? How do you look? Are you looking like the picture of perfect health and vitality? Are you full of energy and excitement for this day?
Continue to imagine your perfect day using all your senses for the next few minutes and feel the joy and love that is yours. When you are ready take a deep breath and come back to the present day and time.
“However much you seem to be living in a material world, you are actually living in a world of imagination.” Neville Goddard
Law of Attraction
The Law of Attraction responds to your vibration, not to your words. So, while you may write down amazing goals, if you are not feeling what it’s like to already have them, then you are playing the game of goal setting and more than likely losing. You must feel as though you’ve already accomplished them and be in that state. You must use your imagination to create the life you want.
“There is nothing unusual or mysterious in the idea of your pictured desire coming into material evidence.” Genevieve Behrend, Your Invisible Power
Scripting is another exercise from my book that takes the ‘forward leap’ a step further. This will take some time, but it is so worth it because your dreams are worth it. Aren’t they?
Scripting is a manifestation technique that brings together…
I’m going to teach you how to write your script and then you will record your script and listen to it every day. This is a very powerful tool for manifesting your dream life. You are going to write out your life story, your dreams, and your goals as if they’ve already happened; use descriptive words. It’s a creative description of the life you desire.
Grab your journal and write down the major categories in your life – physical health, family and friends, money freedom, career, fun and leisure, significant other, time freedom, God/ Spirit/ Universe, education, net worth, awards, and any other category that is important to you. Now, in each category write down everything that you desire. Do not limit yourself. Remember, money is not an issue, and you don’t have to know how it is going to happen. Use your imagination to create a life that you LOVE!
Second, write everything else that you want even if it is small. You might want brand new furniture or a new puppy. Write it all down.
Third, add vivid adjectives to the things you want. For example, instead of writing that you want a new puppy you can write that you want a copper-colored tiny toy poodle with shiny bright eyes and a button nose wearing a red bandana around his neck. If you get descriptive now it will make the script, come together much easier.
Fourth, start writing your script about the life that you want to be living in all its glory in present tense. That’s right. It’s already happened.
Here is a partial example from one of my previous scripts. I started general and then became specific with the areas that I wanted to focus on.
I am so happy and grateful now that I am living the life of my dreams. I’ve easily manifested an abundant prosperous life and am following spiritual guidance and recognizing infinite intelligence in myself and others. We are all connected, and life is a miracle. Every day is better and better as I continue to be guided in all areas of my life. Each day I wake up eager for the day and am filled with so much happiness. I am joyful, grateful, patient and kind. I am inspired to serve and love others, and to be caring, and thoughtful. I am always mindful and aware of my thoughts and feelings.
Physically, I am fit, tone and strong. I love surfing, kayaking, snorkeling, hiking, bike riding, and being in nature. I especially love being in nature in exotic places having wonderful adventures with my family and friends. I have time to travel all over the world. I’ve produced financial abundance for my entire family by doing what I love to do. Every day I am grateful for this amazing opportunity to live a prosperous life and be of service to others.
‘I am fit, tone and strong.’ is an example of how I use affirmations in my script. That’s a phrase that I use often.
Now it’s your turn. Write out the script of your dream life using powerful positive descriptive words. Everything you want is yours! Your script can be as long or as short as you want. Revise and edit it until you are happy with it. This is your life. At the end of the script be sure to include a thank you note to God, Spirit, Universe for giving you all this or more.
Fifth, you are going to record your script. I use a free version of Audacity that I downloaded on my computer. I’m not a techy person but I figured it out easily. Or you can record it on your phone. When you record your script, you want to be in a great mood. As you are reading you want your voice to be enthusiastic and excited. Practice a few times before you record it.
Sixth, listen to your script as often as you can. Try to listen to it every morning making it part of your routine. Focus on the emotions of how it feels to be living this life now.
Finally, when something in your script isn’t resonating anymore or there are things that you want to add then rewrite and record again. Sometimes shifts will occur and you will know when it’s time to change it up. Until then, have fun manifesting your ideal life.
“The future must become the present in the imagination of the one who would wisely and consciously create circumstances. We must translate vision into being; thinking of into thinking from, imagination must center itself in some state and view the world from that state.” Neville Goddard, The Power of Awareness
