Getting Out Of My Own Way!

Are we having fun yet?

Help! I needed to get out of my own way. The problem was that I didn’t know how. Everybody talks about ‘getting out of your own way’ but no one tells you how to do it!

For years, I’ve been a successful entrepreneur and had everything going for me! I worked hard and built up a thriving financial services business. Then one day, when I asked my friend and colleague, Apryl, “Are we having fun yet?” for the millionth time, I realized I wasn’t having fun. The truth was that I wanted more than fun, I wanted joy! I’ve seen joy, I’ve experienced joy, but I wanted to live in joy.  I wanted to experience complete joy and bliss every day. Was that too much to ask? I didn’t think so!

I had no idea how to get started looking for joy, but I knew that something had to change. I knew that there was something deeper that I needed to focus on besides business plans, goals, and deadlines. I can’t explain it except to say that it was like a yearning from my soul. My soul was calling me, but I was still planted firmly in my own way.

Who Am I?

Then, in October of 2018, I got an idea to set my timer for five minutes. I sat down on the steps in my bedroom, and I asked God, “Who Am I?” I literally had no idea what I was doing, but it felt good!

I kept doing it day after day because I was determined to find joy. I called it my ‘silent practice’. My mind had become so busy with work that I had to practice being silent! Geez!  Even though I didn’t know it at the time, this ‘silent practice’ was the beginning of my spiritual journey. A journey that would lead me to living a life of pure joy and bliss.

The journey was a fun one. I guess it’s the teacher in me because when you are a teacher, you are a life-long learner. I love learning. I studied and read and attended events, and I opened my mind to brand new ideas, thoughts, and opportunities.

On my journey, one of the things that I focused on was the Law of Attraction. Because the Law of Attraction is always at work, I learned how important it is to be aware of your thoughts and feelings. Once I had awareness, I realized that I have the power to choose which thoughts I am going to think. That’s right! No one is in my head thinking for me and guess what? No one is in your head thinking for you either. You and I have control over our lives! I create my reality and you create yours!

Allow Life To Happen

I’m writing my book, Allow Life to Happen, because I want to share with you all the aha moments that I experienced. I want to teach you everything that I learned including the books I read, the mentors I listened to, and the exercises I did that were pivotal along the way.

Going through this journey has taught me how to allow life to happen and get out of my own way. ‘Allowing life to happen’ means creating the life that you desire in a way that is easy, effortless, and fun!

Isn’t it time for you to allow more ease and flow into your life? Believe me, if I can do it, so can you!

What do you want to allow in?  Do you want more fun, joy, happiness, appreciation, health, healing, change, wealth, serenity, acceptance, peace, (this is going to be a long list) love, connection, purpose, prosperity, abundance, passion, faith, gratitude, wisdom, understanding, awareness, releasing, alignment, forgiveness, freedom, clarity, and/or guidance?

Whatever it is that you want to allow in I believe that this is your time! Sometimes you need someone who believes in you even more than you believe in yourself. I believe in you. And I want you to know that you are a powerful creator. You can create a life you love!

This is the perfect time to be more loving to ourselves, to each other and to the world. Don’t you agree?

Is your soul calling you too?

Please let me know if any of this resonates with you.  I’d love to know if you’ve had a similar experience or if you are yearning for one? Is your soul calling to you too?

In peace, health, and prosperity,
